LA's All-Women Top Bavarian Party Band

We're excited to be joined by India Anderson (tuba) and Gee Rabe (accordion) of Ladyhosen for POPtoberfest! Together with our phenomenal cast of singers, the ensemble will be playing some of everyone's favorite Oktoberfest hits like "Ein Prosit der Gemütlichkeit," "Liechtensteiner Polka," and more! If you're looking for THE authentic Bavarian experience in L.A., we've got you covered!

& L.A. Donauschwaben!

Founded in 1952, this group is dedicated to promoting the culture and history of the Danube Swabians, a German-speaking ethnic group originally from the Danube River valley region in modern-day Hungary. After WWII, many Danube Swabians immigrated to the Americas, bringing with them their rich cultural traditions. While the Danube Swabian culture isn't directly tied to the Bavarian roots of Oktoberfest, POPtoberfest celebrates a wide range of Germanic traditions. Their performance will add to the vibrant cultural tapestry of the event, offering a unique glimpse into the diversity within Germanic heritage.

THE VENUE

FAQs

Q:  Where do I park?
A: There is plenty of both free and metered street parking in Highland Park around POP HQ, and there are also several nearby paid lots, including one that is right across the street! We recommend arriving at least 20 minutes early so that you have time to find parking. POP HQ is also located about a block from Highland Park station on the Metro A Line.

Q: Can I bring my own food/drinks?
A: No, but we'll have some light concessions (beer and pretzels) available, and your first drink is included with the cost of your ticket! Please note that the concession table only accepts cash or Venmo. There are also plenty of great restaurants within walking distance if you're looking to have a meal before the show!

Q: Can I buy a ticket at the door?
A: Yes!

Q: Do you take credit/debit for concession sales?
A: No, we accept cash or venmo only.

Q: What should I wear?
A: Costumes are always encouraged! Bust out your best Dirndl, Lederhosen, or other Bavarian-inspired outfit. If your costume really takes the cake, you might even win a special prize.

Q: How long is the event?
A: The show is approximately 2 hours including two intermissions.

Q: Besides music, what else can I expect at this event?
A: Just like an other Oktoberfest celebration, there will be plenty of dancing, drinking, and singing-along to all the best Oktoberfest classics. In addition to this, there will also be a stein-holding contest, a pretzel-tossing games, and a costume contest.
